World 100-metre champion Tori Bowie says her objective is to get into long jump in 2018.
The 26-year old started her career in long jump and is aiming to compete in the event at next year’s IAAF World Indoor Championship in the UK.
The American said long jump is her favourite event but she hasn’t competed in it at championship level since 2014.
“ That’s where I started. That’s kind of how I got into track and field and I don’t want to neglect it. I remember the last time I did the long jump and made the team I think I went there and ranked like probably one or two in the world and oh my God I didn’t even make the finals,” Tori Bowie said.
Meanwhile, at the 2017 World Championships in London, Bowie is hoping to recover from a sore hip to compete in the women’s 4×100-metre relay final on Saturday
She suffered cuts and bruises in winning the 100-metre title after tumbling headlong on to the track following her dip claim to victory.
