Ajavon came third in Benin’s presidential elections in April and official reports indicate a joint inquiry into the cocaine discovery has been set up by relevant authorities. He however, before his arrest stated that the move was to tarnish his political image claiming the cocaine was planted as out of the thousands of containers that arrive at the port, they singled out one that was designated under his company!
