Cameroon
Cameroon will play hosts to Kenya in February for a Rio 2016 Volleyball qualifying match up in Yaounde. The two women’s volleyball sides have begun their preparations for the tie, with Kenya coach Japheth Munala naming 26 players.
Speaking to Kenya’s Nation newspaper, Munala said he is focused on taking the team to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
“We have had a fairly good year, but there will always be bigger obstacles to conquer,” he stated. “Right now, we have the Olympic Qualifiers and I want us to feature prominently in the Games and not just participate. The first step is to prove that we are indeed good enough to represent Africa and that is why we have begun our preparations early.”
Kenya are the reigning Africa Champions after they beat Algeria in June to claim the continental crown. Cameroon finished third in the event, after they edged Senegal 3-2.
