Belgium: Police release new footage of 'man in the hat'

Belgian police have released CCTV footage of the third suspect in the Brussels airport attack.

The suspect is seen in a grey coat with a hat walking alongside the two presumed suicide bombers.

It is unclear why the footage has been released. Some have wondered if it was an indication that the man thought to have had a bomb with him, is on the run?

Or are police trying to bolster the case against a suspect already charged with “terrorist murder” amid media reports he could be “the man in the hat.”

While that is unclear, Italian police have released the image of a separate suspect, Djamal Eddine Ouali.

The Algerian national was detained near Salerno on Saturday on suspicion of having provided false documents to militants involved in the deadly Brussels and Paris attacks.

As moves to extradite him to Belgium begin, several suspects are reportedly still at large with Europe still on edge amid fears that the Islamic State could strike again.
