The Morning Call
More trouble is brewing in Ivory Coast as public sector officials have called for a nationwide strike in response to a reform measure on pension schemes and a call for a wage upgrade. The pension scheme reform was lowering their pensions from the initial 80 percent giveaway to 50, a 30 percent decrease. There was an agreement between the civil servants in 2012 of which the effects of that agreement came into play in 2016 when those affected by the law retired.
