The Morning Call
Moods, Money to Goods is the “AirBnB” money transfer. It’s a marketplace for African migrants to send money to their loved ones free of charge in the form of electronic purchase vouchers (SMS) that can be used directly by local merchants. Its target is the African diaspora in Europe, with an initial focus on the Senegalese diaspora, which sends enormous amounts of money to their relatives (10% of Senegal’s GDP is linked to the transfer of diaspora money).
