Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, has revealed that French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) tried to prise him away from Borussia Dortmund during the summer transfer window.
According to the Gabon international who is the reigning African Footballer of the Year, the deal failed because of the manner in which PSG approached him.
“PSG were told to go through my father (who is his agent), but instead they bypassed him and spoke directly to the club who, inevitably, closed the door,” he told RMC Sport.
Sounds like PSG badly messed up their chance to sign Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer… #BVB #PSG

He also disclosed that the figure the Parisians quoted fell far below what Dortmund expected for their top marksman.
Aubameyang scored 25 Bundesliga goals last season, taking his overall goal tally for the past three seasons to 54. He has repeatedly been linked with a move away from the Signal Iduna Park (home to Dortmund) with English clubs top of the suitors.
A return to the French Ligue 1 would have seen the player playing for his fifth club in France after playing for Dijon, Lille, Monaco and St Etienne in the past.
He however advised PSG to employ the use of a sporting director in future approaches as that was likely to succeed.
