It is the belief of some experts that global multi-lateralism lost track after the US’s withdrawal from agreements such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Paris Climate Agreement in 2017. And most recently the multilateral system was perhaps brought to its knees when the UK finally concluded its exit from the European Union (EU).
But now, could it actually be what is desperately needed to deal with the recent outbreak of the novel coronavirus?
