Cameroon
Alex Song has been recalled by new Cameroon coach Hugo Broos.
The West Ham midfielder would feature in the country’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)qualifier against South Africa.
Song has not played for his national team since their rather poor 2014 World Cup campaign in Brazil.
Song’s inclusion in new coach Hugo Broos’ first squad is a surprise for many who claim Alex announced his retirement from international football last year.
Broos has named two newcomers in the squad with Sochaux forward Karl Toko, 23, and Anatole Abang of the New York Red Bulls included.
Malaga goalkeeper Idriss Carlos Kameni has been left out of the squad as he’s battling with a knee injury.
The qualifier against South Africa is on March 26 at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium.
Cameroon are currently top of Group M.
