Women's Africa Cup of Nations tournament hosts Morocco and Cameroon will face each other Wednesday evening at the Moulay El Hassan stadium.
Their previous clash was back in 2000, when Cameroon came out on top, winning 4-1. Morocco had initially taken the lead in that match, before the reversal of fortune for their opponents.
This marks seventh game against a host nation, and they are yet to win in their last six. They have scored in just one of those games: when they drew 1-1 against Ghana in 2018.
Morocco, meanwhile, are aiming for a third WAFCON final, having won 2-1 over South Africa in the quarter finals. They have won both of their previous semi finals, following extra time and penalties.
The team has qualified for the FIFA women’s World Cup in 2027, which will mark their second appearance at the tournament.
