Africa's biggest mobile survey outfit appoints new head


Geopoll, Africa’s leading mobile survey company and media measurement provider has announced the appointment of Arjun Dhillon to oversee and expand its sales across the continent.

Dhillon who moves to Geopoll from Safaricom, Kenya’s largest telecom company where he was Head of Sales and Retention, would be based in the Geopoll’s Nairobi office.

Under his leadership, the company has earmarked continued growth in Kenya as well as expansion in strategic countries including Tanzania, South Africa, and the west African duo of Ghana and Nigeria.

“As demand for GeoPoll’s market research and media measurement solutions has picked up across Africa we’ve continually grown our team, and now we are excited to enter a new phase with Arjun leading a continent-wide expansion of our business development efforts,’‘ said Steve Gutterman, President of GeoPoll

‘‘Under his guidance the team will bring GeoPoll’s mobile survey capabilities to new clients and sectors that lack reliable, up-to-date consumer data,” he added.

The company has targetted the addition of over 20 sales representatives across the continent who will work with partners including global media companies and brands to integrate mobile surveys into their data collection projects.

The company is credited with over 90 million mobile surveys done in partnership with research companies TNS and Kantar Media. Its services are currently available in 23 countries.

By the end of this year, Geopoll is looking to add an additional 10 countries and to reach 500 million users.

The main function of the company is administering mobilesurveys via SMS and voice throughout Africa and Asia, whiles delivering real-time results for nonprofits, brands, and media organizations.
