Nigeria
Day two of games in Group C at the ongoing Championship of African Nations (CHAN) produced a goal each as Nigeria beat Libya and Rwanda also beat Equatorial Guinea.
The Nigerian side recorded their first win in the tournament thanks to Ibrahim Mustafa’s strike on the 79th minute mark. The team had drawn goalless with Rwanda in their first game. For Rwanda, Thierry Manzi’s 66th minute strike was enough to secure them all three points.
Libya had also recorded an emphatic win over Equatorial Guinea in the first match earlier this week.
By implication, Nigeria and Rwanda are tied on four points, Libya will have to beat Rwanda to make it past the group. Nigeria will need to draw to progress whiles Equatorial Guinea have been effectively eliminated.
