Mali proved too powerful for the D’Tigress of Nigeria in the final to be crowned the 2017 winners in Africa.
Mali’s Nassira Traore became the most valuable female player award while Azouma Dike won the most valuable male player award.
Nigeria’s men won five matches enroute to becoming the African champions while the Ivorians and Madagascar finished second and third.
Both the organizers and the leaders of the 3×3 FIBA Africa Basketball Championship are optimistic that the future of the competition will be better that it is right now.
For the first time, the 3X3 will feature at the Olympic Games in 2020. The winners of CAN, that are Mali and Nigeria are qualified for these Olympics.
