As of May, 2017, there were about 5 million domain names associated with Africa with a total annual value of $52 million.

Out of the 1.4 million generic domains registered in Africa, 1.2 million are .com domains.
This month, expect the .africa domain which will be sold by ICANN accredited registrars.
