The Director of Public Prosecutions directed that the case be withdrawn under Section 87A of the criminal procedure code even before the trial had began.
Though he denied the charges, Rosa was being investigated for conspiracy to injure the reputation of some athletes under his Italy -based company Rosa & Associati.
He also faced multiple counts related to doping and ruining the reputation of two Kenyan athletes including Rita Jeptoo, whose doping ban was extended to four years by the IAAF in October.
Kenyan athletes are renowned for their long-distance running prowess and the country claimed its biggest medal haul ever in the August Rio Olympics, but doping allegations and organisational problems clouded the team’s victory.
