Two workers on a stadium construction site in Cameroon’s capital Yaounde died on Thursday when a part of the facilitycollapsed, the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium is Cameroon’s oldest sports stadium.
Local media sources are also reporting that there were other casualties who sustained injuries in the accident.
The Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium was under rehabilitation ahead of November’s female AFCON to be hosted by Cameroon.
Recently, Prime Minister Philemon Yang visited the stadium to mount pressure on contractors for prompt completion of the job in time for the competition.
