Kenya, arguably the capital of Volleyball in Eastern and Central Africa, was again entrusted to host the prestigious Women’s African Club Championship in Nairobi on April 22 to 29, 2016, the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) announced.

The African Women’s Club Championship is thought of as one of the most attractive competitions which attracts around 16 teams every year.
It will feature the biggest clubs in the continent, led by the 2 giant record holders Kenya Pipeline and Al Ahly Cairo who have each 7 titles under their names.
The two will compete against 20 other African teams, including GSP Algiers (Algeria), FAR Rabat (Morocco), Inter Club Brazzaville (Republic of Congo), Club Vision Volleyball (Uganda), Water Sport (Ethiopia), Rwanda Revenue Authority and INJS Yaoundé (Cameroon). CAVB also declared to clubs that March 28 will be the deadline to confirm participation.
The 2015 edition was hosted by Egypt where Cairo based club Al Ahly claimed their seventh crown.
