Media
Africanews appears on your television screens on April 20. In this article, discover something new about the channel on a daily basis till the launch of sub-Saharan Africa’s first multilingual and independent channel.
4 Days to TV Launch: The Composition of Africanews
africanews is the first Pan-African, multilingual and participative TV news channel on air 24/7 broadcasting, for starters, in English and in French.
On a continent hitherto “out-sourced” to foreign media but now on the rise – young, pioneering and claiming its own voice – africanews is committed to the cardinal values of journalism: freedom of expression, accuracy and diversity of points of view. It benefits from the 23 years of professional experience and editorial independence of its European partner, euronews.
Its own network of 45 correspondents spans across the continent. Another 30 journalists from all over Africa work at its head office, in Pointe Noire (Congo). Its flagship programmes are The Morning Call, Business Africa, Football Planet and, soon to come after our launch on 20 April, The Network.
