The Confederation of Africa Athletics (CAA) President Hamad Kalkaba Malboum has calmed fears that Kenya risks being banned from major athletics events including Rio Olympic Games in August over doping.

While speaking to Journalists, Malboum said that the formation of Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya was enough proof that Kenya is determined in its war against banned substances.
“We must support the effort that has already been made by the government of Kenya, by the sports authority of the country to help them reach the expectations of our requirements,” he said.
Malboum, who is also International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) vice president is in Kenya for a two-day visit to check the progress that the country is making on the anti-doping front and met with Kenya’s top athletics brass .
The CAA boss also assured that Kenya will host the World Under-18 Championships in July next year as earlier planned.
