After close to seven years of absence, popular Senegalese musician Baaba Maal is releasing a new album “The Traveller”
The album made up of nine songs will be launched Friday in Paris, France. The songs were recorded between London and Dakar and has a mixture of rhythms and styles familiar to his fans.

In the album, Baba Maal sings about war and peace and invites his fans to dance with him in the “Traveller” and “Lampenda.”

Baaba Maal, born November 12, 1953 in Podor, is a singer and guitarist. He sings primarily in Pulaar and is the foremost promoter of the traditions of the Pulaar people.
62-year-old Baaba Maal shares the same glory like popular Senegalese star musicians, Youssou N’dour, Omar Pene and Ismael Lo.
The song “The Traveller” was produced by Johan Hugo who was also influential in the career of Amadou and Mariam.
Baaba Maal is expected to perform in Brussels and later in Paris in an European tour.
