Donisso Donald is a Togolese cartoonist. He is highly solicited and has been in the business for ten years as he has a wide range of clientele, some including Togolese eminent Journals.
Hopes are high the caricature business in the country will become more lucrative.
“When it comes to caricature first information is needed, as there is a resemblance between the real character and the drawing and with humor at the same . It gets a little complicated for the ordinary people. Many people want to enter in to the cartoon business but because they don’t have adequate training in the field, it is a bit complicated”, revealed Donald Donatien .
For the past 7 years, the organisation named “Or Noir’ has been organising festivals to promote the art of caricature in Togo among the youth.
So far ,only two print media houses employ full time cartoonists. Other bodies have had to suspend their publications for lack of finance.
