Somalia
Yet another attack from Al-Shabaab near Somalia’s presidential palace on Thursday as outgoing president Sheik Mohamoud handed over his responsibilities to president elect Mohammed Abdullahi.
At least two people were killed during the handover ceremony while three others including their parents have been wounded after the mortal shell landed on their house.
In the wake of the attacks, Somalia has announced that it will suspend flights to Mogadishu next wednesday when the president is expected to be sworn in with the exception of dignitaries from the international community attending the ceremony.
President elect Mohammed Abdullahi Mohamed was elected on the 8th of February near a heavily guarded hangar in Mogadishu by 275 MPs and 54 senators.
