Wits University Vice-Chancellor, Adam Habib was on Wednesday kicked out of a meeting with protesting students.
The meeting was intended to resolve the fees must fall protest.
Shortly before the meeting started at the Holy Trinity church in Braamfontein, students chanted calls for the vice chancellor to leave.
Student leader, Vuyani Pambo told his colleagues, “When we get outside, he must leave the church because this church is a holy place and until he repents, he must not come here’‘.
They said they could not proceed with the talks if he was present. Security guards whisked him away
The meeting was hosted by the Academic Staff Association of the University, church leaders and others.
Management of the University have expressed disappointment at the event saying it remained committed to completing the 2016 academic year while at the same time trying to address issues related to the funding and transformation of the higher education sector.
