DP World, a global logistics provider is developing the port of Berbera in Somaliland, a self-governing state in the Horn of Africa.
Away from expanding the port into a major shipping hub, the Berbera corridor project will also build a network of roads to connect the port and neighboring Ethiopia, Somaliland’s main trading partner.
As Ronald Kato reports, Berbera has also boosted Somaliland’s political profile, as it seeks international recognition.
