Morocco, the host nation and one of the tournament favourites, qualified for the quarter-finals of the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) 2018 after their second win in two games.
Morocco beat Guinea 3-1 on Wednesday while Sudan also earned their ticket to the quarters with a 1-0 win over Mauritania.
Morocco, who had resoundingly beaten Mauritania in the opening match (4-0), was held in check (1-1) for just over an hour before Ayoub El-Kaabi’s completed his awesome show with a hat-trick.
Following his two goals against Mauritania, the 24-year-old striker is now the tournament’s top scorer with five goals in two games.
Sudan, meanwhile, beat Mauritania 1-0 to score two wins in as many games.
