The Morning Call
Global civil society alliance CIVICUS has added Angola and Kenya to its Watch List of countries ahead of their upcoming elections.
The group says Angola’s authorities have used force against peaceful protesters and increased pressure on the media while in Kenya, human rights defenders are being targeted as they face threats from politicians and security forces.
Tanzania has also been added to the Watch List because of the recent attacks on the media, the civil society and the LGBTI community.
