Guinea
Aboubacar Sidiki Diakité , one of the most wanted men in Guinea has been arrested in Senegal after seven years of hide-out.
Diakite has been at large since 2009 and has been on the international radar for warrant of arrest. The former leader of the red berets has been accused of having connection with a 2009 stadium massacre that killed more than 150 people.
Several months after the stadium massacre, Diakite tried to assassinate coup leader Moussa “Dadis” Camara by shooting him in the head.
A Guinean investigative commission said he was to be blame for the violence since he was the head of the presidential guard at the time.
Authorities in Senegal have questioned him but he has given no solid response.
Authority in Guinea Conakry are expected to extradite him back to the country.
