The bomb exploded as mourners, mostly lawyers and journalists, gathered to accompany the body of a prominent lawyer, who was shot and killed while on his way to the main court complex earlier on Monday.
About 18 lawyers and a journalist were among the dead.
More than 100 mourners were reportedly entering the emergency department of the hospital to accompany Kasi’s body when the bomb went off.
A hospital worker told Reuters he “ was coming for my shift at the office. As soon as I reached the gate, there was a blast, and people came running out. I left my bike there, and as I entered, I saw dead bodies scattered all over the place. There was blood all over, and injured people covered in blood,” said hospital worker.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet
