Forces belonging to Libya’s unity government say they have captured key areas in the city’s central town but the battle is becoming tougher and tougher as the days unfold.
According to senior officials, government forces have surrounded a conference hall in the area as fighting intensifies.

The remaining Islamic State fighters are in an area around Sirte’s Ouagadougou conference complex and a nearby hospital, commanders of government forces say.
The Islamic state is also being targeted by the Iraqi government in the city of Fallujah and has been looking for ways to empower its Libyan branch.
