Ivory Coast
The Ivorian team that represented the West African nation in the just concluded summer Olympic Games in Rio have returned home.
The team received an overwhelming welcome after they bagged the country’s first gold medal in history.
A gold and a bronze helped the African nation to their best ever Games. Cheick Sallah Cisse won gold defeating Great Britain’s Lutalo Muhammad in the 80kg Final.

Prior to this, Ivory Coast had only won one other Olympic medal ever, a silver in the men’s 400 meters race in 1984.
The West African nation came in fourth in medal standings in Africa.
