South Africa
South Africans have turned to God following a serious drought which has made life stressful in the country.
The drought has also increased temperatures in some areas to over 45 degree Celsius.
The Christians believe spiritual warfare can change the weather after God’s intervention.
“It breaks my heart man and makes me cry when I hear of young men committing suicide because they cannot take the pressure any more. Marriages are under stress because of this drought. It is from the pit of hell . El Nino does not come from heaven, it comes from hell and it is going back to hell. Can we give the Lord a clap please,” Angnus Buchan, preacher and farmer said.
In prayer sessions at Bloemfontein, they decreed words of faith and await answers from their God.
“We are here to pray for South Africa not just for Bloemfontein. We pray for the North West, Karoo, Kalahari and for the Cape. I believe it is over 40 degrees in Cape Town today. We are here to ask God to change the weather,” a Christian said.
The drought could push small farmers out of business. Many are already selling their livestock to avoid further losses.
“Well, it is for me very important to try and live very close to our lord Jesus. He is the one who can give us rain and also spiritual rain,” another farmer hinted.
The South African weather service recently announced that 2015 was the driest year on record since 1904.
The hot and dry conditions could last for two more months.
