Suicide attack
At least 25 Yemeni police recruits have been killed in a suicide bomb attack in the port city of Mukalla.
Sunday’s attack on a police compound was orchestrated by the Islamic State. The group posted a message online claiming responsibility for the attack and claimed that around 40 people died in the blast.

According to reports, the victims were lining up to register before a militant detonated the bomb.
Medical and security sources say dozens were injured in the melee. This is the second attack in the city in less than a week.
The increasing Islamist militant threat has led the Houthis, a rebel group and the Yemeni government to embark on peace talks now under way in Kuwait.
Mukalla was until recently a hub for al Qaeda before the insurgent group was driven out by Yemeni forces backed by a Saudi-led coalition.
