The Nigeria U-17 Women’s team, the Flamingos hammered their South African counterparts 6-0 in the final round, first leg tie of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier in Abuja on Saturday.
A hat trick from Rasheedat Ajibade, Yetunde Fajobi’s brace plus Sibulele Holweni’s own goal ensured Bala Nikyu’s side crushed Maude Khumalo’s ladies at the National Stadium, Abuja.

The massive home victory have put Bala Nikyu’s ladies one leg at the fifth biennial competition scheduled to hold from 30 September to 21 October, 2016 in Jordan.
The second leg of the final round of the 2016 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, will take place on March 26, at the Makhulong Stadium in Johannesburg.
In the other games, Cameroon took a narrow 2-1 lead over Egypt with the second leg in Cairo scheduled for March 27.
Ghana’s Black Maidens trashed Morocco 4-0.
Ghana placed third in 2012 after defeating Germany by a goal to nil, a tournament hosted in Azerbaijan.
