Two rescued after Nigerian high school kidnapping, police intensify search

Police in Nigeria’s largest city Lagos have intensified search for kidnapped students and teachers of a high school after two students were rescued on Thursday.

The kidnappers reported to be six in number stormed the school premises on Thursday morning and fired shots in the air before abducting four students, a teacher and the principal of the school.

Lagos State police spokesperson, Bisi Kolawole told local media that they have intensified their search after rescuing two students.

Nigeria’s House of Representatives led by the representative of the state, Wale Raji, urged the police to be swift in the search and rescue of the students and teachers.

The identity and motive of the kidnappers is unknown.
