Ghana
Ghanaians are voting today to elect a new president with 275 Members of Parliament (MPs). Over 15 million people are on the voters register and will be supposed to cast ballots across close to 29,000 polling stations.
Voting has opened across the country and it is believed to be largely without any major incidents except for hitches relative to location of viting centers. Turn out appears to be very high. Voting kicked off at 7:00 GMT and is expected to close at 17:00GMT.
Counting, collation and declaration of results is expected to continue immediately after the close of polls.
The main political parties are the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). The NDC is led by John Dramani Mahama in the presidential race whiles 3-times aspirant Akufo-Addo represents the NPP.
