The attack took place on Thursday and reportedly targeted the vehicles in East Ennedi province, more than 100 kilometres from the border with Sudan.
The incident is raising fears that the war in Sudan could escalate regional tensions.
Sudan has previously accused Chad of supporting the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces who have been fighting the Sudanese army for control of Sudan since April 2023. Khartoum says N'djamena allows fighters and military supplies to transit through Chad.
Chad has placed military units on high alert and warned warring parties in Sudan against crossing its frontier, saying it reserves the right to defend its territory.
