GKSD promotes stability in Syria through crucial infrastructure and services for restoration

Kamel Ghribi, Chairman of GKSD Holding, has concluded a fact-finding mission to Syria, underscoring the urgent need for international collaboration in the country's reconstruction. Leading a delegation of medical, economic, and engineering experts, Ghribi met with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani to discuss potential development projects aimed at rebuilding the war-torn nation.

The talks focused on leveraging GKSD Holding’s expertise in energy, infrastructure, and healthcare, with active contributions from Italian partners. The delegation proposed a series of impact-driven initiatives designed to foster a strong foundation for Syria’s recovery following more than a decade of conflict.

A central theme of the discussions was the healthcare sector. Ghribi emphasized that investment in health yields positive returns not only for the medical system, but also for the broader economy, employment, and the well-being of the population. In a productive meeting with Syrian Health Minister Musaab Nazzal al-Ali, discussions explored financing strategies, capital structuring, and the revitalization of a comprehensive national healthcare system.

Upon returning to Milan, Ghribi reaffirmed GKSD Holding’s commitment to supporting Syria’s reconstruction. He noted that this commitment aligns with Europe’s strategic objectives of fostering regional peace, security, and stability. Ghribi also stressed the vital role of the private sector in driving the success of international partnerships, calling for active and sustained collaboration.

Over the past decade, the GKSD Chairman has consistently provided solutions for regions overlooked by global institutions. From delivering crucial PPE during the COVID-19 pandemic to donating oncology equipment to a children’s hospital in Tunisia, Ghribi’s personal advocacy and behind-the-scenes action have made tangible impacts.
