UN envoy welcomes Kiir's order on unhindered aid access [no comment]

The U.N. humanitarian coordinator for South Sudan, Alain Noudehou has said a recent order by president Salva Kirr that humanitarian aid convoys be allowed to move freely, unhindered and unimpeded in the country is encouraging as the South Sudan struggles with years of conflict.

U.N. sanctions monitors previously accused Kiir’s government of using food as a weapon of war to target civilians by blocking life-saving aid in some areas.
