Exploring Rwanda's tourism potential [Travel]

Recent African tourism records show Rwanda as one of the fast growing tourist destinations in Africa.

The country’s tourism’s industry witnessed yet another double digit growth in 2016 over the previous year 2015.

With this in hand, the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) is considering turning the country into a luxurious tourism destination that would drive up revenues.

A few weeks ago the board announced an increase in the price of gorilla permits from $750 to $1,500 for all visitors effective immediately.

In line with Rwanda’s high-end tourism strategy, the price increase aims to strengthen conservation efforts and contribute more to the development of communities living around the Volcanoes National Park, said RDB.
