Nigeria: FAAN commissions automated car park at Lagos airport

In a bid to curb leakages and boost its revenue base, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria recently commissioned a state-of-the-art automated car park at the Domestic Terminal 1, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

However, the modern facility is uniquely designed to ensure that parking fees are paid at the payment booth before you exit the car park unlike in the past when you pay at entry point.

The facility also has a special billing system which is programmed to give the end user the exact amount for time spent at the parking lots.

The project will automatically eliminate long queues, reduce traffic, speed up passengers and vehicular movements at the land-side of the Terminal and ensure seamless facilitation of passengers and airport users.

The automation will key into President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to transparency in all revenue points of all Federal government Agencies to the Federal Government Treasury Single Account.

The commissioning of the facility is in line with the Authority’s desire to give passengers and airport users improved air travel experience in line with global best practices.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria assures the travelling public especially as we approach the peak period of air travel, which is usually associated with high passengers and vehicular traffic movements, of her commitment to give the best inspite of the economic challenges facing the country.
