Cairo's mobile valeting service

Residents of Cairo have found ways of beating the congestion which characterizes their city, home delivery services.

From food, coffee to even medical services, residents are increasingly ordering goods and services – from their sofas.

The new addition is a mobile car valeting service.

The company was founded by a former finance manager Mohamed Hamdy who said he spotted a gap in the market which lead him to set up his home valet service.

“The idea came to me because when I used to go wash my car or pass by a gas station, I would see people crowding over there to wash their cars, and workers unable to deal with them, so I brought a pen and paper and started imagining if I can install all the equipment needed in one car – how it would look like, etc. I hired a number of mechanics to help me build this car, I tried the first time and failed, then tried again and thank God, it worked”.

His client Magdy Abu Nassef enjoys the service.

“It’s a wonderful idea. It’s very comfortable and practical. You’re offered a good service without having to go anywhere. What’s better than that?”

Its a business which is gradually gaining ground though the cost of the service is twice the normal car wash service.

Residents of Cairo are getting used to the idea of getting things done without leaving their homes.
