Gandhi statue to be brought down in Ghana [The Morning Call]

A group of lecturers and student campaigners in Ghana who have been campaigning for the removal of India’s Mahatma Gandhi’s statue will have their day as the country’s Foreign ministry has said it will move the statue to a safer location. The activists complained that Gandhi was racist toward black people taking note of his 21 years in South Africa where his legacy fighting for the rights of Indians living in the country at the time has also been questioned.
