Ghana decides 2016 [The Morning Call]

Ghanaians head to the polls today, December 7, with the state of the country’s economy weighing heavily on the voters’ mind. Voting is under way in what analysts say is a tight race between President John Mahama and veteran opposition leader Nana Akufo Addo.

The economy emerged as one of the main issues during the campaigns. The ruling NDC party is relying on recent infrastructure spending and an improved outlook for the economy while the main opposition NPP party is confident that voters are eager for change because of the economic challenges facing the country.
