Malawi "hyena man" jailed [The Morning Call]

Eric Aniva, known in Malawi as the “hyena man” was sentenced on November 22 to two years imprisonment with hard labour for “harmful practices”. The HIV-positive man revealed to the BBC news agency in July of having unprotected sex with more than 100 women and girls and not disclosing his HIV status. But will this bring to an end the custom of “widow cleansing” that is deeply rooted in some parts of Malawi?
