Confederation of African Football fines Togo for withdrawing women's team from cup of nations playoffs

The Togolese Football Federation (FTF) has been sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football(CAF) and ordered to pay $2,500 for withdrawing its women’s national team qualifying for the African Cup of Nations playoffs.

The games are scheduled for 19 November – 3 December 2016 in Yaunde and Limbe,but the FTF says it has no money to prepare the women’s team.

As a result, Togo is also excluded 11th edition of the Championship of Female Africa in 2018

With Togo now out of the cup of nations, Ethiopia, which was scheduled to face the team has been exempted from the playoffs
