Russia’s Dmitry Agoshkov celebrated his first victory on this year’s Africa Eco Race.

The KTM rider won stage five – a 456 km test from Remz el Quebir to Dakhla in Morocco’s Western Sahara.

Overall race leader Gev Teddy Sella struggled on the day and could only manage a 17th place finish.

The South African KTM rider retained his position at the summit of the overall bikes standings but has had his lead reduced by almost 25 minutes to 40 minutes over Italian Honda rider Paolo Ceci who was fourth on the day.

Frenchman Thierry Magnaldi picked up his second straight win with victory in the car category.

The Ford driver crossed over the line just over five minutes clear of standings leader Vladimir Vasilyev.

Russia’s Vasilyev now holds only a 22 minute advantage over Magnaldi in the race for the title

Andrey Karginov continued his dominance of the Trucks category by winning his fourth stage from the opening five tests.

The Russian Kamaz driver is now almost two hours clear of his closest challenger Czech Tatra driver Jaroslav Valtr.
