Kenyan Olympic athletics team manager Michael Rotich has appeared in court on allegations of bribery and doping.
Rotich who was arrested on his return from the Olympic Games on Tuesday has denied the accusations.
He appeared in court briefly on his arrival and was held in custody overnight, appearing again on Wednesday morning.
The athletics manager is under investigation for allegedly asking for cash in return for warning athletes before drug tests
The prosecution requested for the accused to be detained in custody for seven days in order to conduct its investigations.
The fresh doping scandal is likely to jeopardize the country’s participation in the Games.
Kenya is well known for producing some of the world’s best athletes but some 40 of its athletes have been banned for doping in the last three years.
