Another suspect has been arrested in connection to the March shootings at Grand Bassam in Ivory Coast, security sources say.
The suspect is allegedly the driver of the vehicle which carried weapons to the scene of the attacks on March 13.
“According to information gathered so far, it is clear that his vehicle was located in Mali and Burkina Faso during the time of the attack,” a security source said.
Ivorian authorities have strengthened border control and security measures in efforts to prevent future attacks.
The main suspect, Dallah Kounta, is still on the run.
A total of 83 suspects have been arrested ever since the attack took place. Among them are two Malians who are said to be fully involved during the preparation for the attacks.
Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb claimed responsibilty for the Grand Bassam attack which left 19 people dead among whom were 3 jihadists.
