Kenya’s victorious rugby sevens team has been given a heroes welcome as they landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International airport.
The team is back after winning their first world series leg against Fiji in the finals of the Singapore sevens last Sunday.
“I am very happy, I am very excited. I am satisfied because we are coming back home with a trophy,” Andrew Amonde, captain of Kenya’s sevens team told reporters

The boys say a difficult journey lies ahead but they believe they will make it with focus.
This year’s victory has been particularly celebrated because Kenya has witnessed failed attempts twice.
Kenya becomes the next African team after South Africa to win a leg in the Rugby sevens series.
Meanwhile the President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that he would be meeting the team on their return home.
