BURKINA FASO (AFP) – Australians taken in Burkina Faso are being held by jihadists, the abductors have told AFP.
Burkina Faso Interior minister said the kidnapped were an Australian couple and not Austrian as earlier stated.
Meanwhile, two French nationals have been confirmed as casualties in the siege at the Splendid Hotel earlier today in the state’s capital, Ouagadougou.
